#BookReviewWednesday

Every Wednesday (or so) I post a review of books I like that are well-known or need to be discovered. Take a look. #BookReviewWednesday.

Story Mummy

My blog is about the 2 of the most enriching things in a child’s life: reading books and travelling. Both of these are 2 sides of the same coin, in my opinion, as it’s seeing the world, learning about others and experiencing something new. I review kids picture books of all levels, which me and my children have read and enjoyed together (ergo, I’ll only review a book that I’ve enjoyed). Moreover, instead of a rating system, I put “Teachable Takeaways”, which include ideas for further learning and enrichment activities that can be done with your child using the concepts in this picture book.

I particularly love and look for books that feature diverse characters and issues of diversity and accessibility; kids encyclopedias; books that teach qualities like kindness and empathy; alphabet books; STEM concept books.

My blog also features my forthcoming picture book, “Wonder Walk”, to be published by Iguana Books in Spring 2019.

Cardigan Required

With over five years of professional library experience, I currently spend my days working at a public library. One of my favorite parts of the job involves reader’s advisory, so this blog is an extension of that. I believe someone who doesn’t like to read has found the right story yet.

Nya Reads

Nya is a design geek who needed a hobby blog to talk about things she enjoys, such as books, because there’s more to life than just work. She reads fantasy & science-fiction since a very young age (and sometimes she writes too), but her guilty pleasure is chick-lit and women’s fiction. Other genres she reads and quite enjoys: mystery and suspense; non-fiction; contemporary fiction. She has always supported indie authors and has reviewed several books in the past. Even though she doesn’t have much free time these days, she’s always open to feature and interview new authors.
