Twirling Book Princess

Screen Shot 2015-08-27 at 7.30.40 AMHi all, I am Mehsi. A girl from the Netherlands with a huge love for all that is books!
I have started my blog in 2014 after I was looking for a place to feature my reviews and have one main point to post them.

I am constantly trying to make my blog more fun and exciting, not only adding reviews but also adding blog meme posts, book hauls, cover posts and a lot more.

I read from all sorts of genres/age groups. I read Fiction, but also a lot of Non-Fiction. However, I do try to keep my blog focussed on YA/MG or Children’s and Graphic Novels/Manga. I do this because otherwise things might get a bit cluttered.

I have been reviewing since 2012, after I found out that I like to share my opinion about a book with everyone. Another reason was, because this way I can see back and see why I liked/disliked a certain book.

SocialBookshelves.com

Screen Shot 2015-05-31 at 4.37.04 PMSocialBookshelves.com was founded in April 2013 and launched on May 1st of the same year as a book blog with a difference – each review is constrained by the number of pages contained in the book. Still not clear? If the book I’m reviewing contains 182 pages, my review will consist of 182 words.

Why? Good question. I wanted to deliberately limit myself so that I didn’t spend all of my time writing reviews – I’m a writer myself, by trade, although I work in social media at a creative agency during the daytime. What with my various projects, I simply don’t have time to write a 500 word review every other day.

There’s also the fact that too many book reviews are long-winded and unnecessarily detailed, particularly in the age of social media. I wanted to make sure that each review was short and sweet, but that I’d go in to more detail for longer works if required. I also like a challenge, and limiting each post in this way seemed as good a challenge as any other.

My name’s Dane Cobain, and I’m the guy behind SocialBookshelves.com. If you want to find out more about me, I suggest you check out my personal website, ‘like’ my page on Facebook, follow me on Twitter or subscribe to my channel on YouTube. Thanks for visiting SocialBookshelves.com!

The Bohemian Housewife

Screen Shot 2015-05-17 at 3.50.48 PMI started this blog after getting multiple pulmonary embolisms in my right lung. I couldn’t work for a while so I needed something to take up time. I’m completely in love with blogging and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. I review most genres, I only say no to religious books of any kind.

Claire loves to read!

Screen Shot 2015-05-12 at 8.17.46 PMI’m an voracious book reader, reviewer and proofreader; I’m also an alpha & beta reader. I spend a large percentage of my time reading and really enjoy losing myself amongst the pages. I like to support new authors by reviewing their work and sharing my thoughts on my blog, on social media and on other websites including Amazon, lovereading and librarything. I’m listed among the top reviewers on goodreads and have 1700+ twitter followers.
I blog about all things book related. Mainly book reviews, but other content too.
My favourite genres are crime, psychological thriller, suspense, horror, mystery and paranormal; throw in a hint of romance and it’ll tick another box. The type of genres that I’ll read has been widened considerably by accepting review requests from authors and publishers, so I’m happy to give almost anything a go!
