Poesy In Chrysalis

I started my blog as a personal space for sharing my poetry, short stories and random musings. But over time, it transformed into a book blog. Once I started reviewing books as a profession, my blog became a space where I could share my honest opinions about the books I read, give constructive feedback which many authors have told me that they found helpful and recommend books to readers. Apart from posting book reviews and book recommendations, I also post about bookish merchandise, poetry, articles and occasionally sponsored content. I want to spread the love for reading amongst people because I feel that somewhere we have lost that habit of reading over the generation.

A Teen’s Library

Hi! I’m a teenage girl who loves all things fiction, so I write reviews. I mostly write book reviews, but there is the occasional movie or trailer that I have to fangirl over.

The Fictional Housewife

This is a lighthearted but sincere review of great books, which began because of my procrastination of “housewife” things in favor of reading. My old house, on the National Register of Historic Places requires lots of work but then again so does my tbr list which, frankly, threatens to crush me at any moment! Still, who can resist a great book and that one last paragraph, page or chapter?! Not me!

While my favorite seems to be thrillers, I’ll read anything interesting. I love so many authors and have full set syndrome (hence the towering tbr pile). Some of my favorite writers include Karen White, James Rollins, Brad Meltzer, Dean Koontz (especially Jane Hawk series), Mark Twain, Liane Moriarty, Ruth Ware…honestly the list is endless. For me, the joy of reading is a great story, so the while I have genre favorites and authors I love, all that really matters is an engaging story.

Photos + Writings – book reviews and other literary musings

I’m a great reader of mysteries, literary and historical fiction and have begun to share reviews about what I’ve been reading. I am a writer of poetry and short stories and a budding photographer. So, occasionally, I’ll share my own poems and photos.

The Joy of Mere Words

This blog is devoted to short reviews of whatever books I happen to read. There are a couple of exceptions.

Those relating to recent psychical research I post on the website of the Society for Psychical Research (www.spr.ac.uk). Reviews of books which have been sent to me I shall continue to post on my main blog (http://tomruffles.blogspot.co.uk), where my bibliography can also be found. Even with those exceptions, this blog will probably be fairly eclectic.

I had been adding reviews of my general reading to the Goodreads site, but ceased to do so when it was taken over by Amazon. I have reposted my Goodreads reviews here, though my account there will stay open and I shall leave the reviews on it in place. However, I shall not be adding any further content.

Loving Life Everyday

Laura Morningstar is a mum, a book-worm, a geek, a lover of good tattoos, gym enthusiast and chronic illness warrior. She adores huge mugs of tea (needs it to function), music, unicorns, log fires, daisies, dancing in the kitchen while she cooks, geeking out playing RPGs, owls & hawks, a bloody good tumbler of Whisky and long walks.

Loving Life Everyday is her little corner if the interwebs where she shares her love for books through reviews, author interviews and her fave reads. She also share posts about the joys and struggles of being a mum with a chronic illness and anything else that may take her fancy to.

Fork and Page

Fork & Page is a unique book blog which reviews recent poetry collections alongside a delicious brunch. I usually post twice a month on the weekends. I started Fork and Page in July 2017 because I wanted to share my love of books and poetry with others. Since then, I have reviewed books by Jorie Graham, Tracy K. Smith, Victoria Chang, Diane Seuss, Jenny Xie, Monica Youn, Vievee Francis, Phillip B. Williams, Kaveh Akbar, and others. It is my hope that this review blog will help these books reach a wider audience. It is my belief that poetry deserves more support, love, and attention.
