Uncommonly Bound

I read a lot of books. All sorts of books, too— memoirs, classics, historical fiction, biographies, YA, plays, historical nonfiction, graphic novels, even the occasional children’s book—no book is safe.

In the course of all this reading, I often come across very different books that share a common thread. A fantasy YA novel may touch upon the same idea as a historical account of life in early 20th century England. A memoir may remind me of a graphic novel I’ve read. Connections can be found in the strangest places. I use my blog to share some of the unlikely links I have found in literature.

I typically don’t rate the books I review–my main focus with this blog is to find unlikely connections between dissimilar books.

The Travelling Reader

We read and review fiction books which have been based in the UK. For some books, we travel to the place the book was set and on our return from our travels, we review both the book and the place and post the reviews on the site. We have dedicated pages for our book reviews, our place reviews, a blog and a subscription service which incorporates the travelling we do.
