Reflections of My Life

This blog will be about books, music, Life, and etc.
I love reading and sharing good books.

Three Piece Heart

Three Piece Heart originally started off as The London Diaries. I was a Kentucky gal transplanted all the way over in London and The London Diaries and was a way for me to keep family and close friends back home up to date with what I was up to and what things were like “across the pond”… but it grew into so much more than that. I got into book blogging in 2012 and loved it. Living in London gave me access to publishers, authors and events that I never would have had the chance to get involved with back in Kentucky.
In late 2015 we relocated to Virginia, a state I’d never even so much as set foot in. Yes… my life is nuts. With that came the need to rebrand, and The London Diaries became Three Piece Heart… one piece for each place I’ve lived in. The rebrand was, of course, followed by crippling writer’s block that lasted off and on up until 2018.

And here I am… revitalized and ready to get back to what I know I do well–writing about books and reading.

I don’t pretend to be some genius wordsmith, or even to be a fantastic writer. All I can do is write what I know in the way that I know how–with a little bit of wit, sarcasm and a dash of humility.

Books and Wine Gums

Books and Wine Gums features book reviews and author interviews. I read mainly lit fiction and poetry, but will review other genres listed on my review policy if I’m suitably intrigued, or if I have previously reviewed the author. I’m currently enjoying the increasingly popular ‘nature memoir’ genre.

Frost At Midnite

If there is a book that I think someone out there will like, I post a review. But then that happens with almost all book doesn’t it!

Southern Today Gone Tomorrow

Fanatical reader with a background in Engineering, I give honest book reviews with an eye to how they are written, if they are worth the time and money, and who would possibly enjoy them.

Felix the Fox Mysteries

Felix the Fox is the hero of my historical-fantasy-mystery mash-up (a.k.a. Stories of Togas, Daggers, and Magic – for lovers of Ancient Rome, Urban Fantasy, and Mysteries). While he’s not twisting my ear and dictating his memoirs to me (I break my teeth translating his Latin into English), the I read.
A lot.
And I write reviews about the books I read. WHAT I will read greatly depends on what catches my fancy when I’m looking for book. I will only finish books I enjoy (life is too short), and I will only write reviews for books I finish. I will post my reviews on my blog, Amazon, and Goodreads.

Eastern Sunset Reads

Eastern Sunset Reads was started back in October 2010 to keep track of my own thoughts on the books I am reading. It has evolved very little over the years, it still remains my thoughts on the books I am reading, but with a little less rambling than in the beginning. I post reviews 3 to 5 days a week and also post lists, tags, discussions and occasional giveaways and author interviews. I also have a few consistent features, each Friday night I post a review on a Children’s book for Bedtime Stories, I have events for Children’s Book Week and Banned Book Week. I also host a Rhode Island Author month to support my local authors and in December an Advent Reads event featuring a new holiday book each day leading up to Christmas.

I read a wide variety of books including Children’s Books, Early Reader, Middle Grade, Young Adult, Romance, Graphic Novels and Fantasy. You can find a more specific list on my blog for books I will and will not accept for review.

Thank you for taking the time and I hope you will stop by for a visit. ~Ang

Zooloo book blog

My blog started by friends who thought it would be a great idea if I had a place to have a voice about the books I read and general musings. I try to be funny – not always successful, when putting my thoughts out on the big wide web. I have only just started out but already I have quite a few posts on my blog – 2 being Q&A’s with authors which I am incredibly excited about! I have also been approved to review nearly 70 books on Netgalley (again all new to me!) so check out the reviews as I live and breathe books!
