Bobo’s Book Bank

Hey y’all! I’m a romance book blogger and I’ve been blogging for about two years. I love to read about hunky heroes and their lady loves and an HEA is a must! On my HOME page, you’ll find info on how I rate the books I read as well as points about my reviews. I’ll never post a book that’s less than 3 stars as I really try to keep a positive vibe on the blog. I read/review a wide variety of books in the romance genre, for example: clean, contemporary, paranormal, erotic, romantic suspense, new adult, young adult & LGBT. Please be aware that most of the books I read are for 18 YEARS & UP! The last page on my blog is where you can contact me and it also has my privacy policy if you’d like to take a gander. I generally list my reviews on Amazon and Goodreads (sometimes Bookbub and other similar sites) as well as my blog, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Plus, I’m almost always willing to post teasers, excerpts, giveaways, cover reveals etc.! Thanks!💕

Story Mummy

My blog is about the 2 of the most enriching things in a child’s life: reading books and travelling. Both of these are 2 sides of the same coin, in my opinion, as it’s seeing the world, learning about others and experiencing something new. I review kids picture books of all levels, which me and my children have read and enjoyed together (ergo, I’ll only review a book that I’ve enjoyed). Moreover, instead of a rating system, I put “Teachable Takeaways”, which include ideas for further learning and enrichment activities that can be done with your child using the concepts in this picture book.

I particularly love and look for books that feature diverse characters and issues of diversity and accessibility; kids encyclopedias; books that teach qualities like kindness and empathy; alphabet books; STEM concept books.

My blog also features my forthcoming picture book, “Wonder Walk”, to be published by Iguana Books in Spring 2019.

An Angry Old Man Reviews Books

I am old, and I like to read. Why this is a problem to some people, I don’t know. So my grandson suggests to me that it might be fun (I shit you not) for me to “connect” with people around my love of books, and he sets up this blog for me. I didn’t tell him it was the stupidest idea ever – I just gave him my blankest, old man, give me more pudding face, and held my tongue. First of all, how am I supposed to connect with someone by writing a blog anyway? Will you people magically come through my modem and be my friend? Right. Also, I know it was his mother who put him up to it in the first place, even though he acted like it was just this idea that came to him one day between skateboarding and playing Minecraft. Maybe instead of conducting Operation Elderly Outreach she should have taught him to be a better liar – definitely a more applicable life skill. So, not wanting to be a total dick, I told him it was a great idea and that I’d write some thoughts about the books I was reading. Happy now?

A Thin Slice of Anxiety

Welcome to A Thin Slice of Anxiety. A blog detailing the chronicles of a book addict.
Here you will find a collection of book reviews that will hopefully inspire you to lead a fuller life, to challenge yourself, empathize more with others and grow stronger.
I try to focus on unusual books, things you may have never heard of, or were too intimidated to read, either because of reputation or size. Although to be honest I will read anything that grabs my attention then and there.
I don’t believe that great books can only be appreciated exclusively by academics, I also don’t believe that you need a degree to appreciate philosophy or ‘difficult writers’. You certainly don’t need to attend a university to appreciate fiction, or to understand the power that a good book has upon the reader.
I realize also that while there are many blogs out there dealing with books, few of them are focusing on difficult texts, or on the books that many have called the most important, the greatest, and fewer still on controversial books, especially those dealing explicitly with Sex and Death, the only two topics worth discussing, as Peter Greenaway put it.
I fully agree with him, and I don’t believe in self censorship, and many books on this blog will be controversial – maybe even dangerous (all the good books are)
Life is too short to read bullshit, as I’m sure you’ll agree. So go and read and let me know what you think.
